Sherilyn Tamagawa

Professor Tamagawa at a whiteboard

I am currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Statistics at Pomona College in Claremont, California. On the research side, I like thinking about low-dimensional topology, especially knot theory. On the teaching side, I enjoy thinking about new ways to incorporate tactile activities into my classes.
I completed my Ph.D. in Mathematics at the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2019 under my advisor Stephen Bigelow.
I received my B.A. in Mathematics from Scripps College, one of the Claremont Colleges.
